Community Service
REL. ED. 6
MIRA M. DAYAP | BSE FIL IV | MARCH 5, 2019
Reflection Paper
Yesterday, March 3, 2019, Sunday, I participated in a community service as a part of
my compliance for the term requirement of my Rel. Ed. 6 subject. It was the only time I
attended the community service because I was not able to attend last year.
It was held in Barangay 13, Marquez, Old Albay, Legazpi City. At 9 a.m. I met up
with Ma’am Ivy and the other Rel. Ed. Students. The activities for that day began when we
delivered the materials for the construction of the wall that is needed to prevent the water
to flow inside the house of the family that we were helping. I carried a hollow block and one
of the packed groceries to the construction site. The packed groceries were given to selected
families in the area.
At noon we had a boodle fight. It was my first time to participate in a boodle fight
and I enjoyed it not just because of the delicious food but also because of the spirit of
camaraderie between students even though we are from different courses and that was also
my first time meeting most of them.
We waited until the construction of the wall was finish. I left early that the others
because of an event that I have to attend later that afternoon. But as I went home, I realized
the importance of helping or giving back to others especially those who are in need. Even
in my own little way, I can make my neighbors’ life easier and much more comfortable. It
was definitely worth it to spend my time and money for a good cause.
