LEARNING COMPETENCIES
CONTENT STANDARD: animals have body parts that make them adapt to land
PERFORMANCE STANDARD: construct a prototype model of organism that has body parts which
can survive in a given environment.
LEARNING COMPETENCY: infer that body structures help animals adapt and survive in their
particular habitat. (S4LT-IIc-d-5)
Specific Objectives:
a. To identify the different body movements of terrestrial and aquatic animals,
b. To describe how animals adapt to a particular environment for protection and survival,
ENGAGE (10 MINUTES) MATERIALS
A. Review Power point presentation
1. Ask: what parts of animals are used to protect Pictures (animal)
them selves to there predators? Manila paper
2. Say: I will give you the parts of animal use to
protect them selves and you have to define its
purposes.

B. Motivation
1. Students will be playing the game pass the box.
2. Teacher will cite the mechanics of the game.
a. There are different pictures inside the mystery
box.
b. The pupils will pass the mystery box while
there’s music playing.
c. When the music stops, the one who is holding
the box will pick out the picture and recite the
body structure use to protect the animal.

b. Why animals have this body stuctures?
c. What are the small animals do to survive?
d. If we were eliminate this body structure to animals,
what would happen to them?
e. How animal’s body part helps to adapt in their
particular habitat?
ELABORATION (20 minutes) MATERIALS
B. Application Power point presentation
Group Activity: Manila paper
1. Student will be divided into two (2) groups
2. Each group will re-form the jumbled letters of body part
use for protection or adaptation.
3. After re-forming the jumbled letters, each group will post
their works on the board.
4. One member will be explain their works and the body
parts that they formed.
C. Generalization
Ask:
1. Who among you can define adaptation?
2. What are the body parts used for protections?
