Using the Program Logic Model to
Develop the Program Budget
One way of making sure that your program activities are accurately accounted for in your program budget
is to identify the resources that are necessary to engage in the activities you have chosen to reach your goals
and objectives.
Directions. In the chart below indicate your goals and objectives; the activities in which you will engage;
resources that you will need to carry out those activities; the budget line item (ie, salaries, contracts,
supplies, etc.) and the estimated costs. You will find line items on the sample budget template.
This worksheet should be completed for every phase of the program, including planning, implementation
and evaluation. You should also make sure that every goal and objective is accounted for. One way to do
this is to also complete one sheet for every goal area, although it is not absolutely necessary.
