Case Analysis Format Guidelines

FORMAT FOR WRITTEN CASE ANALYSIS

Suggested Sections Guidelines


1) Statement of the Problem  State the major problems which the protagonist is facing.

2) Causes of the Problem  Provide analysis of the problems identified in the Statement of the Problem
 In the analysis, apply theories and models from the text and/or readings
 Provide Quantitative as well as Qualitative arguments.

3) Decision Criteria and Solution  Identify criteria against which you evaluate alternative solutions (i.e. time for
Alternatives implementation, tangible costs, acceptability to management)
 Evaluate the pros and cons of each alternative against the criteria listed
 Provide Quantitative as well as Qualitative arguments.
4) Recommended Solution, and  Identify who, what, when, and how in your recommended plan of action
Justification  Solution and implementation should address the problems and causes
identified in the previous section

5) Report Formatting  Maximum 2 pages (12pt. Times Roman) including Appendix/Graph/Tables, if


any.
 Reports will be put in TURNITIN (plagiarism check) to check the extent of
plagiarism before evaluation.
 The name of the assignment word/pdf document should clearly indicate the
group number.
