Linda Fiddler

John Korey (jlkorey@[Link]) is Professor Emeritus of Political Science at


California State Polytechnic University, Pomona. He received his Ph.D. from the
University of Florida, specializing in American politics and research methods, has taught
various courses in these areas, and is the author of a textbook on California Government
and a research methods website. He is a member of the Social Science Research and
Instructional Council – a California State University systemwide group which encourages
the use of quantitative data in both teaching and research.

Edward Nelson (ednelson@[Link]) is Professor Emeritus of Sociology at


California State University, Fresno. He received his Ph.D. in Sociology from UCLA
specializing in research methods. He was the director of the Social Research Laboratory
at CSU, Fresno from 1980 to 2013 and taught research methods, quantitative methods,
critical thinking and computer applications. He has published books on observation,
social research, and using SPSS. He is a member of the Social Science Research and
Instructional Council – a California State University systemwide group which encourages
the use of quantitative data in both teaching and research. He is also a co-editor of the
Sociology Editorial Board of Merlot – a collection of digital learning material maintained
by the California State University.

Elizabeth Nelson (elizn@[Link]) is Professor Emerita of Sociology at California


State University, Fresno. She received a Ph.D. in Sociology from UCLA specializing in
gender, work, and aging. She has taught gender, work, social gerontology, family, and
critical thinking.
