History

In the winter of 2011, while serving as working members at ADX, Portland’s

Makerspace, Zach and Josh met and became friends, sharing a love of art, punk, and
burritos. With the help of their friends at ADX, they formed Band, a diverse, draw-it-by-
hand, make-it-from-scratch, do-it-together creative studio, in a room they built above the
shop’s kitchen.

In the years since, Band has worked on a wide array of unique projects with some of the
best people from the Pacific Northwest and beyond. We strive to keep our work unique and
smart, with room for a little magic. You can find us in Portland and Seattle, and if the project
is the right fit, we’d love to work with you. Feel free to drop us a line, here
ABOUT #3
Doomtree started as a mess of friends in Minneapolis, fooling around after school, trying to
make music without reading the manual. The group had varied tastes—rap, punk, indie
rock, pop—so the music they made together often bore the toolmarks of several styles.
When they had enough songs, they booked some shows. They made friends with the dudes
at Kinkos to print up flyers. They burned some CDs to sell. The shows got bigger. Of
necessity, Doomtree’s seven members (Cecil Otter, Dessa, Lazerbeak, Mike Mictlan, P.O.S,
Paper Tiger, and Sims) figured out how to run a small business. Lazerbeak’s garage became
the merchandise warehouse; P.O.S’ mom’s basement became the webstore. A decade and
fifty releases later, it’s all properly official—Doomtree is now a real, live label with
international distribution—but not that much has changed. Doomtree still partners with
people who aren’t jerks. If members can’t find something they need, they make it
themselves. Although each member has a career as a solo artist, every so often the whole
crew convenes to make a collaborative record as a group.

The most recent Doomtree record is called All Hands. The title nods to the nautical rally cry,
“All hands on deck,” and the album stands as the most collaborative and cohesive project
the crew has yet produced. New Noise Magazine called the record, “their most immediately
catchy work yet…easily a career high.” After an interview at this year’s SXSW, Fast Company
Magazine wrote, “their beats are fiercely contemporary, and the five rappers…are ferocious
wordsmiths with forward-thinking rhymes.” It was made by old friends who’ve tuned their
craft, both together and individually, for over a decade. And it shows. Both the catchiest and
densest album in the group’s catalog, All Hands adeptly walks a tightrope of immediately
memorable hooks and in-depth lyricism that rewards repeated listens. The result is equally
worthy of up-to-11 trunk-rattling drives as it is late-night headphone sessions.

ABOUT #4
Mailchimp is an always-on marketing platform for small businesses. We make innovative,
beautiful products that empower those businesses to find more customers. The company
started in 2001 as a side project. Today, Mailchimp serves millions of customers around the
world, is still 100% founder-owned, and is highly profitable. We’re headquartered in Atlanta
with additional offices in Brooklyn and Oakland.

Our Founder’s Story

In 2001, Ben Chestnut and Dan Kurzius started a web design agency called the Rocket
Science Group. Their focus was on big, corporate clients, but on the side, they created an
email marketing service for their smaller clients.

Mailchimp was designed as an alternative to the oversized, expensive email software of the
early 2000s. It gave small business owners who lacked the high-end tools and resources of
their larger competitors access to technology that empowered them and helped them grow.

Ben and Dan loved serving these users, because understanding small businesses is in their
DNA: Ben grew up helping his mom around her hair salon that she ran from their family
kitchen, and Dan’s parents ran a bakery. With Mailchimp, they found that working for small
businesses gave them the freedom to be more creative and adapt quickly to their needs.

So, in 2007, Ben and Dan decided to shutter the web design agency and focus exclusively on
Mailchimp. While the new company started as an email marketing tool, our customers
repeatedly asked us to spread the Mailchimp spirit to other channels. They taught us that
Mailchimp’s brand promise is to help small businesses “look pro and grow,” no matter the
channel.

In 2017, we launched a slew of new channels: Instagram, Facebook, and Google ads, landing
pages, and more. We’re no longer an email marketing tool—we’re a marketing platform. As
our product and team continues to grow, one thing stays the same: Ben and Dan’s mission
to empower the underdog.

Mailchimp’s senior leadership team draws on decades of experience across industries to

chart a course for the future and guide the company toward its strategic goals.

Culture

Mailchimp works to create a company culture that sustains a creative workforce and
encourages a healthy work-life balance. Our employees have opportunities to
attend events, share their work, and take time off to volunteer or learn new skills. And
we’re always looking for new engineers and artists, misfits and number crunchers to join
our team.
As part of our commitment to diversity and inclusion, we’re cultivating an equitable and
empathetic workplace, a listening and learning culture, and an empowered and inspired
community.

We help our team members grow in their current roles and dream about what's next
through programs like Mailchimp University, an MBA-style program developed with Emory
University, leadership courses for managers, and our apprenticeship program, which gives
people without prior experience the opportunity to try out technical roles.

Mailchimp also hosts writers, designers, comedians, artists, and other interesting people at
our regular Coffee Hour series for employees

When Tate first opened its doors to the public in 1897 it had just one site, displaying a small
collection of British artworks. Today we have four major sites and the national collection of
British art from 1500 to the present day and international modern and contemporary art,
which includes nearly 70,000 artworks.

Founder Name

In 1889 Henry Tate, an industrialist who had made his fortune as a sugar refiner, offered his
collection of British nineteenth-century art to the nation and provided funding for the first
Tate Gallery.

How We Can Help

Tate publishes most of its information on this website. Where this is not possible, we
explain where you can find further information (in Tate’s Reading Rooms, for example) or
who you can contact. Information about our galleries, including access and facilities can be
found on the individual gallery pages. We also have information hubs relating
to research (including our public records) members, publishing, events and
hospitality and supporting Tate. Our online FAQs and press releases may answer your
questions; you may also contact us or our press office.

Our Mission

Our mission is to increase the public’s enjoyment and understanding of British art from the
sixteenth century to the present day and of international modern and contemporary art.

Its statutory aims and objectives set out in its governing document are:

 to care for, preserve and add to the works of art and the documents in its
collections;

 to ensure that the works of art are exhibited to the public;

 to ensure that the works of art and the documents are available to persons seeking
to inspect them in connection with study or research; and

 generally to promote the public’s enjoyment and understanding of British art, and of
twentieth-century and contemporary art, both by means of the Board’s collections
and by such other means as they consider appropriate

Find out more about our priorities and how we are fulling our mission to increase public
understanding and enjoyment of art.
Our Goals

The objectives provide a set of common priorities for everyone across Tate, with the
overarching aim of championing art and its value to society. Each of the objectives is equally
important – and they are inter-related. We cannot achieve one without the others and
every person who works or volunteers at Tate plays a role in delivering them.
ABOUT #6
Amnesty International is a global movement of more than 7 million people who take
injustice personally. We are campaigning for a world where human rights are enjoyed by all.

We are funded by members and people like you. We are independent of any political
ideology, economic interest or religion. No government is beyond scrutiny. No situation is
beyond hope.

Few would have predicted when we started that torturers would become international
outlaws. That most countries would abolish the death penalty. And seemingly untouchable
dictators would be made to answer for their crimes.

What we do

We investigate and expose the facts, whenever and wherever abuses happen.

We lobby governments, and other powerful groups such as companies. Making sure they
keep their promises and respect international law.

By telling the powerful stories of the people we work with, we mobilize millions of
supporters around the world to campaign for change and to stand in defence of activists on
the frontline.

We support people to claim their rights through education and training.

What we are today

After more than 50 years of groundbreaking achievements, Amnesty has been through a
major transformation, adapting to dramatic changes in the world.

We have shifted from a large London base, to open regional offices in cities in Africa, Asia-
Pacific, Central and Eastern Europe, Latin America and the Middle East. These offices are
major hubs for our investigations, campaigns and communications. The new regional offices
strengthen the work of Sections who already work at the national level in more than 70
countries. We can now respond quickly to events wherever they happen, and be a powerful
force for freedom and justice.

To stay one step ahead, we are also developing tools using the latest technologies. Such as a
mobile phone app that acts as a personal ‘panic button’ for activists at daily risk of being
arrested or detained.

Imagine what we can now achieve standing side by side with activists in every corner of the
globe. How many more prison doors will open? How many more torturers will be brought to
justice? How many more people will realize their rights and live in dignity?

by our team of experts that have years of experience in the industry. We have trained and
learned about this topic long before this website was created.

And so UCMore is a reliable source of information when it comes to internet software. Not
only that, we also provide tips on software development so we don’t only cater to business
owners, but also developers.

It is our goal to inform our users about the importance of software to companies, especially
now that technology is rapidly advancing.

Our content revolves around this thinking and that’s why we provide content covering
various topics, from the latest news about software, reviews, tips in development, and
more.

News

We cover only significant news regarding software. Take note, however, that we only cover
those involved on the internet.

We create reviews for internet software so our users can easily understand how great or
how terrible a software service company is.

Software Development

Since our team have some developers, we also provide services involving helping businesses
develop their own coding for their software.

Website Tips

We also provide tips on how companies should handle websites using different software,
which is mainly SEO tools.
FAQs

There’s no denying that software development can be a bit complicated. If not explained
carefully, there will be a lot of confusion. After all, it’s one of the most advanced expertise
available on the internet.

Since UCMore was created, we worked hard perfecting crafts for the benefit of our users.
That’s why to ensure transparency, we make sure they have an idea of our progress in our
content.

That’s why we constantly update this page according to the most common questions asked
by our users. That way, we can avoid misunderstanding as much as possible.

Based on the experience as well as feedback that we receive from our clients, as well as
ordinary readers, we have compiled this list of frequently asked questions about software
use and development.

Why is software a large investment?

Software development requires you to spend a lot of your time. It also takes time to use it
on your business including the time it takes to gather the requirements and finally built it.

In short, you’ll have to focus your time into it, and we all know that time is money.
However, while you’ll have to invest a lot in this endeavor, you’re also going to reap
numerous benefits from it.

How could I benefit from a software?

The main benefit of owning your own software is that you’re going to be free from licensing
with another software company.

You’ll also experience increased efficiency with the convenience that comes with owning
your own software.

Business processes can be automated and thus, making work easier for those in the
technical side of the business.

You can also build systems on the existing processes inside your business, further improving
productivity.

How do I manage a software project?

There are many management programs that you can use to improve the efficiency of your
team. However, there are two main types of methodologies that we use in our developing
our software: Agile and Waterfall.

Is it okay to hire someone offshore?

Language barriers can hinder your communication, and lack of proximity can break down
quality. These factors can affect the success rate of a project, so do yourself a favor and hire
someone in the localities.

If you’re thinking of hiring someone, though, make sure it consists of a three-man group,
since it mostly requires that number to create a custom software.

VOLUNTEER

Volunteering

We really value our volunteers. Volunteers are involved in front of house roles at all four of
our galleries, as well as a few behind the scenes roles.

How does it work?

When volunteer roles come up at all of our galleries we promote these through our local
community contacts. Unfortunately, we have limited capacity to involve volunteers.

You may also be interested in other volunteer opportunities available online at Do-It, Team
London, or through your local volunteer centre.

Internships

Our internship programme aims to offer structured work-based learning opportunities to

support career development and to open up opportunities for working in the arts sector to
people from all backgrounds.

We want to offer these opportunities to people who would benefit most from an internship
with us both in terms of furthering their personal or professional development and who, in
return, would have a new and different perspective to bring to our work.

Previous experience of working in a museum or gallery is not a requirement to undertake an

internship here. Our aim is to attract people to join us as interns who might not have
thought about working in our sector before or who have not had the opportunity to
experience what this might be like. We therefore work with local partners and charities to
advertise our internship opportunities. These partners include local job centres, Employ SE1
and Creative Access.

Unfortunately we are not able to accept speculative applications for internships. Similarly
we are not currently part of the Erasmus Plus programme and are unable to accept any
applications via this route.
