Public Market and Health Center Proposals

This document discusses a thesis proposal for the "BARNIS TAYTAY PROMOTING AND TRAINING INNOVATION DESIGN CENTER" located in Taytay, Philippines. The proposal aims to create a center to promote and train people in wood design and innovation. Wood is a valuable building material that has been used for shelter and protection since ancient times. However, forests are decreasing while the value of wood is increasing. The center would teach about the unique characteristics of wood as an organic material and train people in its uses as a building and design material.

“PUBLIC MARKET PROPOSAL”

The Public Market is a year-round medley of owner-operated, carefully crafted, deliberate

and diverse shops, stalls.

Public markets are available to fulfill a public purpose, display a community's unique

character and culture while serving its shopping needs on a daily basis.

Typically, they focus on selling a wide range of fresh, healthy, value-added and prepared

foods Often grown or manufactured locally. Sometimes crafts and/or a variety of neighborhood

businesses need to round them out. They usually include a market component for seasonal

outdoor farmers. Chain stores and franchises are banned by public markets. They focus on local-

owned and operated businesses that highlight the best of local food, crafts, music, heritage, and

culture.

Public markets are typically owned and operated by public or non-profit entities.

They exist for multiple public purposes, such as job creation, incubator for small

businesses, tourist attraction, and access to fresh, healthy food; increase the values of
surrounding properties, historical preservation, etc. Public markets are powerful engines of the

economy. They create opportunities for entrepreneurship for citizens and immigrants who often

find it difficult to enter into the mainstream economy.

PUBLIC MARKET THESIS PROPOSAL by Pau a fifth year Bs Architecture student in

Polytechnic University, her thesis is public market located at Muntinlupa the purpose of the

project is to help the people of Muntinlupa using the smooth and efficient accessibility

considering the economical opportunities, the festival for the consumers, based on the research

the basic needs of a consumer are good sanitary, adequate parking lot, security and accessibility,

but due to the main problem of a public market is sanitary, it has been difficult to dispense with

juries, the stench of a market and more to consider and the people who use it whether it is

accessible for the poor and the rich and that is the main goal of the project. The whole site of the

project low is located in density area in Muntinlupa.

The project has unique features including a floating restaurant inside the market the

restaurant it says that the restaurant is stand using bamboo engineering that’s serve as a

foundation.

Choosing a public market as a thesis is one of the best idea because I noticed that the

majority of the public markets in the Philippines are not giving too much attention to the smell

and the poor adhesion of the shops so many consumers have difficulty finding of what they want

to buy. Some of the public markets are unorganized. it’s a good choice to solve the problem first

especially in sanitary and spaces so it will attract more consumers to buy.

It is also nice to have a structure that symbolizes the richness of the land area for events
and festivals, since the public market is a government project and business area it is well placed

in the low density area so that it has more access to people and thus cannot distinguish a market

store for being dense and fragile place. but to show that it works well for consumers and people

who come here every day to buy.

“MATERNAL AND CHILD HEALTH CENTER”

A fresh baby's arrival makes a large difference in family life, bringing fresh joys as well as

new difficulties. Even if it's not your first child, every baby is unique, and a fresh baby will mean

some family life changes.

Maternal health is women's health during pregnancy, infancy, and postpartum. It covers

the health-care dimensions of family planning, preconception, prenatal and postnatal care to

ensure, in most cases, a positive and fulfilling experience and, in other cases, to reduce maternal

morbidity and mortality.

Breastfeeding, child health and development infant and child nutrition , maternal health

(including emotional health), parenting skills ,home safety for children immunization,

relationships (including your relationship with your baby) local support services is the purpose

of maternity and child health center.

Maternal and child health center a thesis proposal by a fifth year Bs Architecture student in

Polytechnic University, her thesis is ST. Bernadette Hospital located in San Belmonte Bulacan.
the goal of the project is to help women and children in area of Bulacan and to help

psychological need of the patients. based on the research that she gathered forn UN ( United

Nations) and it is said that there are 463 public hospital and 991 hospital in whole area of San

Bemonte, Bulacan. The Concept of the project is "Sensory Experience “sensory

The adjective sensory describes something relating to sensation — something that you feel

with your physical senses

The target of the Project is accommodate at least 55 percent of total population of whole

area. specifically 27 percent for child and 28 percent for women. The form of the said structure

of her building is a pregnant women. But because it is a government project the plan is

depending in The National Building Code of the Philippines, including the number of patients,

psychological effects and emotional needs. The said budget of the project is 600 million

excluding the equipments for the hospital.

This Thesis is interesting because it also consider the emotion of the patient and people

inside the hospital, she used the colors to set the mood and architectural acoustics inside the

interior. the goal of the project is good because some of the hospital here in the Philippines can’t

accommodate a patient especially because of lack of equipments and a lot of stuffs.

So I would likely recommend other reader and people to build a lot of government

facilities not only in Bulacan but in other coastal area.

“COCOCOMUNIDAD”

The Philippines, after Indonesia, is the second biggest coconut producer in the world. It

made 11.8 million tonnes in 1989. Roughly 6.7 percent of Philippine exports accounted for

coconut products, coconut oil, copra (dried coconut) and desiccated coconut in 1989.

Approximately 25 percent of the cultivated territory was planted in coconut trees and it is

estimated that for their livelihood between 25 percent and 33 percent of the population was at

least partially dependent on coconuts.

Historically, the coconut manufacturing centres have been the Southern Tagalog and Bicol

areas of Luzon and the Eastern Visayas. Also significant coconut-growing areas became Western

Mindanao and Southern Mindanao in the 1980s.

In the early 1990s, a medium-sized unit of less than four hectares was the average coconut farm.

Owners, often absent, used local farmers to gather coconuts instead of engaging in tenancy

relationships.
On a piece rate basis, the villagers were charged. Those working in the coconut sector tended to

be less trained and older in rural labor and earned lower than average incomes than the average

person.

Cococomunidad a coconut village the thesis proposal. The Philippines is the second major

exporter of coconut and there goal of the project is a build a coconut village located in Quezon

city. it is interesting project for the farmers and also for the consumer of coconut.

The village is nice idea to help farmers for them to have a area for their agriculture

business. The main focus of the thesis in about environmental systems and the site of the

building.

for me it is risky because of the site that’s because the chosen site is located in Quezon

city and the Quezon city is a urbanized land use building a agricultural project in Quezon is need

to be more informative based on the analysis and statistically population. Building a

cococomunad is good because of the purpose but need a lot of research to prevent the effect of

the land use area.

its also said that the best location of the coconut farm in the Philippines is in Mindanao

specifically in leyte and other part of it.

it is true that our country loves coconut and this is why we should strengthen coconut

called as "tree of life" not only for its purpose as a fruit but also for our people who used

coconut as a source life.

“BARNIS TAYTAY PROMOTING AND TRAINING INNOVATION DESIGN

CENTER”

It’s common knowledge that wood comes from trees. What may not be so apparent is the

structure of the wood itself, and the individual components that make up any given piece of

lumber. Unlike a mostly homogenous piece of foam board, MDF, or other man-made material,

wood is an organic material, and has many distinct characteristics which will be helpful to learn.

Wood is an organic material with fibrous, heterogeneous and anisotropic texture produced

from the tree, which is a living organism. Wood is one of the oldest building material.

Humankind uses wood for sheltering and protection purposes since the ancient times. Today, the

wood has increased in value due to the decrease in forests for various reasons, the inability to

grow new trees instead of those cleared away or due to the late growth of trees.

Wood is used as roof fittings, woodwork and coating material and as load bearing or

decorative materials in models and scaffolding. Furthermore, there are also artificial building

materials such as chipboard, MDF and plywood that are produced from woodchips, sawdust and

dust, which are by-products of wood. A wood that has been cut and processed into standard

dimensions is called lumber.

Wood is the main tool in this thesis, in this project the value of wood is shown and it can

help promote the industry of plastics which is good to prevent flooding.

The Thesis shows its better use in the field of construction and architecture, he said that

the used wood engineering can last up to 10 years. but the problem is the proposal also include

importing the wood in some country particularly in Japan, in Japan the cutting of the tree is need

a lot of process and that is the problem of this project it can affect the environmental resources in

the Philippines. it is good to hear that our country is one of the leading experimenters of wood

but if we are looking forward to the future cutting wood as a material for any material can affect

the balance and the resources of the Philippines. He said the word innovation in his title thesis

and it is good if he can make of find a possible solution to regenerate and build a new

engineering wood that can last double than the normal wood. from 10 years to 20 years.
