Topic. Learning a foreign language supported by the use of technology
Introduction.
Hook. Nowadays, is the use of technology fundamental for learning a foreign
language?
Thesis statement. Education is innovating with the use of ICT to support the
students´ learning of a foreign language.
Argument#1. Many professors are prepared to teach a foreign language using ICT.
Argument#2. Learners can learn individually in an easy way through ICT.
Argument#3. There are several apps, games, and websites to interact in a second
language.
Body.
Argumentative #1. Teachers are understanding the importance to change their
method of teaching using technology.
Example #1. Students motivate to learn a foreign language when professors use
innovative tools.
Example #2. Teachers needs to have technological knowledge to offer excellent
teaching for technological native students.
Example #3. Technology in education is the application of technology to any of those
processes involved in operating the institutions which house the educational
enterprise (Jonassen, 1999).
Persuasive Phrase. The use of technology in schools has improved the level of
bilingualism.
Argumentative #2. In the last decade, education ministries and universities of the
country have invested much effort and money to increase the use of ICT for
learning a foreign language.
Example #1. Computers serves as a mediating artefact for improve learners´ skills.
Example #2. Students can learn autonomously from their comfortable houses
anytime.
Example #3. According to Gillespie (2006), new technology enables students to
collect information and interact with resources, such as images and videos.
Persuasive Phrase. The use of technology to learn a foreign language has more
advantages than disadvantages.
Argumentative #3. Plenty of students learn a foreign language through online
courses.
Example #1. More universities in Colombia accept the importance to apply the
education in distance modality.
Example #2. The website Duolingo is one of the most famous apps that students
use to learn a foreign language.
Example #3. Marc Prensky said, School didn't teach me to read - I learned from my
games.
Persuasive Phrase. Most of students are technological natives. So, they have the
need to be learning through technological tools, contacting native speakers.
Conclusion. Teachers dominate the use of technological tools as apps, games, and
websites to improve the students´ learning of a foreign language. And,
students learn to take advantage of time through ICT.
Restate thesis. Classrooms of high schools and universities are using different
virtual platforms to support the students learning process in a foreign
language.
Restate arguments. Currently, most of teachers supported by Mintic and
Governments have changed the traditional teaching for the use of ICT for
offering to students good results in learning a foreign language.
Clincher persuasive phrase. The bilingualism has improved in schools and
universities because of the advantages that offer the use of ICT for learning
a foreign language.
