2. Roles and Responsibilities
Scrum Master
• Ensuring Scum is understood and enacted by everyone
• Acting as Servant-leader and coach for the Scrum Team, moderating meetings as required while remaining neutral
• Supporting the Product Owner and ensuring Scum best practice is applied, i.e. PO maintains a product backlog, prepares a release plan and spends enough time with the
Development Team
• Proactively identifying and removing impediments through direct or indirect approaches like supporting and influencing
• Managing a separate impediment backlog with user stories assigned to the Scrum Master
• Managing interactions with those outside the Scrum Team to maximise value and protecting the Scrum Team from external interferences to improve their productivity
• Coaching the Development Team in self-organisation and cross-functional work, fostering teamwork between the Product Owner and Development Team
• Working with other Scrum Masters to continuously improve the effectivity of Scrum in the organisation and ensure organizational support for cross-functional and self-
organizing Development Teams
Product Owner
• Maximinsing product value and acting as Product SME
• Empowered to make visible decision-making on backlog content and prioritization – everyone to respect these decisions
• Owning and communication the product vision
• Owning the product backlog and ensuring it is transparent and clear to all, showing what the Scrum Team and Development Team will work on next
