STANDARD OPERATING PROCEDURE FOR LP PUMP
OBJECTIVE: For Smooth Operation of LP water pump.
SCOPE: This SOP is applicable for 08 nos. of LP water pump.
INTRODUCTION: LP water pump is required for initial filling, make up & cooling of bottom ash hopper. It is
obtained by 08 nos of LP water pump for 06 units. For 03 units 03 nos LP water pump is running and another one is
standby).

2 Emergency push button is in release condition.
PUMP LP WATER START UP SEQUENCE :
1 Open the LP water pump suction valve.
2 Start the LP water pump.
3 Open the LP water pump discharge valve.
4 Adjust VFD for predetermined current setting.
SHUTDOWN SEQUENCE:

1 Insure that stand by LP pump is running condition.
2 Stop the LP water pump & closed the discharge & suction valve.
3 Rectify the probable problem, if any.
2. TRIPPING OF LP WATER PUMP :If suddenly pump trips
1 Closed the pump suction & discharge valve.
2 Try to start stand by LP water pump.
3. EMERGENCY SHUT DOWN:
1 There is the apparent abnormal noise/Vibration after starting the pump.
2 The pump & motor bearing temperature is high.
3 When discharge line is leakage.
4 When endangering the safety of person and equipment.
5 V-Belt found damaged or found slipping over pulley.

1 Buffer water tank level is low.
2 Pump suction & discharge open feedback.
