Define the Problem (Opportunity)


Describe the problem as accurately and realistically as possible - what, where, when, how often,
with whom, why…

Generate Alternatives
Brainstorm to generate as many alternative approaches and solutions as possible (don’t evaluate,
just come up with them!). It is helpful at this step to involve others to widen the perspective.
