Performance Task on Video Production

Department: College of Tourism


Course Program: Bachelor of Science in Hotel and Restaurant Management
Course Subject: Purposive Communication
Topic: Media Literacy
L.O.1: Produce a video presentation which will promote the BSHRM program.

Nature of the Final Product:


The students will create a Promotional Video on the BSHRM program of the
College of Tourism, which contain the following features:
a. Historical background of the program
b. Facilities of the college
c. Key features of the BSHRM curriculum
d. Achievements and highlights of the program
e. Visions for the program

Task Prompt:
1. This is a group activity.
2. Duration of this activity is only 2 weeks.
3. This activity will be conducted only within the campus or an in-campus activity.
4. Guidelines for the activity:
a. Students will group themselves consisting of 5 members pers group.
Members will have individual tasks (leader, videographer, writer, editor,
and researcher)
b. The group must submit their members’ names with their corresponding
tasks.
c. The group must have to conceptualize on how to promote the BSHRM
program.
d. They group must also submit a title of their video.
e. The video must not be more than 3 minutes.
f. A deduction of 1 point shall be incurred upon the lack or excess of time.
g. The video must contain intro and extro credits.
h. The video must incorporate the logo of the university and the department.
i. The video must also incorporate the VMGO of the university and the
department itself.
5. Guide questions:
a. What are the qualities considered as the basis upon assigning of tasks?
b. What made you choose the concept which you have presented on the
video?
c. Does the title of your video give relevance to the given task?
d. How did you convey your message within the allotted time?
e. In what way were you able to incorporate the logos in the video that
would be ale to enhance the message?
f. What are the contents of the credit? And what made you add that
information in the video?
g. How are you able to incorporate the VMGO of the university and the
college in order to improve your video content or message?
6. This activity must be accomplished within 2 weeks only.
7. Resources needed are laptop and high-resolution video camera and microphone
(optional).
8. You may ask professional help (i.e.; interview, editing, grammar critiquing).
9. You may use online videos only as guides in the production of this activity.

Criteria:
a. The information presented must be clear and accurate.
b. The video must also visibly correlate the message.
c. The message must be understandable.
d. The parts required for the video are complete.
e. The viewers will be motivated to enroll in the BSHRM program of the
College of Tourism.
