Normal Curve Probability Calculations

The document contains 6 problems calculating probabilities using the normal distribution. Each problem provides the z-value or z-value range and calculates the probability that a random variable falls below, above, or within that range based on the normal distribution tables. The problems find probabilities such as 49.31%, 51.46%, 83.72%, 32.38%, 43.32%, and 34.64%.

NORMAL CURVE

Problem 1: P(0<z<2.46)
P(z<0) =0
P(z<2.46) =0.4931
P(z<0)-P(z<2.46) = 0-0.4931
= 0.4931 or 49.31%

Problem 2: P(z>-2.18)
P(z<-2.18) =0.4854
P(z>-2.18) =1-0.4854
= 0.5146 or 51.46%
Problem 3: P(z>0.42)
P(z<0.42) =0.1628
P(z>0.42) =1-0.1628
= 0.8372 or 83.72%

Problem 4: P(-0.93<Z<0)
P(z<-0.93) =0.3238
P(z<0) =0
P(z<-0.93)-P(z<0) =0.3238-0
= 0.3238 or 32.38%
Problem 5: P(z<1.50)
P(z<1.50)
= 0.4332 or 43.32%

Problem 6: P(-2.37<z<-0.37)
P(z<-2.37) =0.4911
P(z<-0.37) =0.1443
P(z<-2.37)- P(z<-0.37) =0.4911+0.1443
= 0.3464 or 34.64%
