CITIZENSHIP ADVANCEMENT TRAINING (C.A.

T)

OBJECTIVES OF A C. A. T. OFFICER

1. TO ENHANCE THE STUDENT’S SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY AND COMMITMENT TO THE DEVELOPMENT


OF THEIR COMMUNITIES.
2. DEVELOP THE ABILITY TO UPHOLD THE LAW AND ORDER AS THEY ASSUME ACTIVE
PARTICIPATIONS IN COMMUNITY ACTIVITIES.
3. READINESS IN ASSISTING MEMBERS OF THE COMMUNITY ESPECIALLY IN TIMES OF EMERGENCY.

BATTALION AND STAFF DUTIES

1. BATTALION COMMANDER

 Responsible for all battalion activities.


 Provides guidance and feedback to event staffs and serves as a liaison between Cadets and cadre
as required.
 Creates suspense dates to accomplish Battalion missions and enforce standards.

2. EXECUTIVE OFFICER

 Second in command; assumes command and commander responsibilities in the Corps


Commander’s absence.
 Serves as the leader of event staffs to plan and conduct battalion training.
 Insures staff suspense dates are met and remains knowledgeable of the current status of staff
actions.

3. PERSONNEL OFFICER (S-1)

 Provides administrative support for the battalion.


 Prepares and maintains unit strength reports, rosters and records.
 Receives operational control of any special project committees as directed by the commander.

4. INTELLIGENCE OFFICER (S-2)

 Supervises battalion physical security.


 Serves on event staff for planning and conducting battalion training events.
 Responsible for all Cadet recruiting on the campus.

5. OPERATION, TRAINING, AND PLANNING OFFICER (S-3)

 Plans, Organizes and supervises the conduct of all Cadet training.


 Prepares Operations Orders, training schedules and memoranda to facilitate battalion training and
operations.
 Serves on event staff for planning and conducting battalion training events.

6. LOGISTICS AND SUPPLIES OFFICER (S-4)


 Coordinates for, receives, distributes and controls supplies and equipment for training.
 Conducts inventories and maintains a continuous working knowledge of on hand supplies and
equipment within the battalion.
 Primary Staff Officer responsible for coordinating the logistics integration of supply, maintenance,
transportation and services for the battalion.

COMPANY

1) COMPANY COMMANDER

 Responsible for all company level activities.


 Supervises, provides guidance to and directs the company staff and platoon leaders in insuring all
activities and training are planned, coordinated and executed efficiently.
 Sets the standard and direction of the company

2) COMPANY EXECUTIVE OFFICER

 Second in command; assumes command and commander responsibilities in the Cadet Company
Commander’s absence.
 Performs all other duties as assigned by the company Commander.
 Responsible for the safety and risk assessment of all company events.

3) PLATOON LEADER

 Responsible for all platoon activities.


 Insures Cadet Compliance with policies and procedures of the program.
 Responsible for the training and personal development of the platoon members.

SPECIAL STAFF DUTIES

1. LIAISON OFFICER

 Acts as a contact point for all personnel.


 Performs all other duties as assigned by the battalion commander.
 Advises the Corps Commander on planning, coordinating and supervising activities of the battalion.

2. HEADQUARTERS OFFICER

 In command of cadets/cadettes with casualties during battalion.


 In control of Headquarters.

3. PROVOST MARSHALL

 In charge of persons confined for any offence, to preserve good order and discipline, and to
prevent breaches of the same by persons subject to this Act.
 The head of Military Police.
 In charge on execution and punishment and charge of discipline.

4. MEDICAL OFFICER

 In charge in cadets/cadettes with basic knowledge in first aid in case of emergency during battalion
formation.

5. COLOUR OFFICER

 Supervising Military Police (MP) for the entrance of colours in formal ceremonies.
 Renders honors when the national anthem is played or sung, when passing in review during a
parade, or in certain other circumstances.

6. BAND OFFICER

 Helps maintain discipline in the band room and on the field.


 Verifies that his/her cadets/cadettes are meeting their responsibilities.
