Field Study 4, 5 and 6

Activity #4

Directions: Make a detailed lesson plan (DepEd Format) that will require you to make your own
learning activity and rubrics of the activity. Attach the constructed lesson here and answer the
following questions:

1. What structure of curriculum design did you employ? Elaborate your answer.

I used the subject-centered curriculum design because the topic is revolves around a
particular subject matter or discipline. My topic is all about the seafloor spreading that
is in the learner’s and teacher’s module that the teacher and the student should follow
with a time allotment for teacher and studying. This type of curriculum design tends to
focus on the subject rather than the individual. It is the most common type of
curriculum used in K-12 public schools in the Philippines.
2. Describe and discuss the learning activity that you conceptualized, designed and
employed in the lesson plan.

The learning activity that I employ is the student-centered approach which at first I let
the students to construct their knowledge through a motivation which is the titled
mumbo jumble which is a jumble word puzzle that students should answer. This activity
gives the students an idea what is the topic for today. This will construct their pre-
existent knowledge about the subject topic. The lesson proper is like question and
answer discussion where the teacher is asking questions to the students to answer. This
can help the student and teachers during the lesson proper in terms of efficiency that
the teacher will be the facilitator and it’s up for the student to learn with the
constructing their pre-existent knowledge into a new knowledge that they acquire
during the learning process. The activity is adapted from learning module which titled
“split and separated” which tackles their lesson that day which they can simulate the
seafloor spreading by using papers that slit in their activity notebook. This activity can
develop their understanding about the topic with the help of activity.
3. Construct a rubric of the activity and write it here.
A teacher is the one who inspires, guides, enlightens and motivates. They are
also tireless, dedicated professionals.
