NOTIFICATION

No.23/ECI/NOT/TERR/ES-II/OR/2018:- Whereas, the Commission had announced


the schedule for Special Summary Revision of Electoral Rolls with reference to 1 st
January, 2019 as the qualifying date in the State of Odisha, vide its letter
No.23/LET/ECI/FUNC/ERD-ER/2018, dated 07th May, 2018; and

Whereas, the Commission has received a request from the Chief Electoral
Officer, Odisha, vide his letter No. 8447IE(A) – 36/2018 /Elec.– dated 01st October, 2018
for extension of period for filing claim and objections in view of certain technical issues;
and

Whereas, the Commission has considered it and approved the proposal vide
its letter No.23/ECI/NOT/TERR/ES-II/OR/2018 dated 29th October, 2018;

Now, therefore, the Election Commission, in exercise of the power conferred


by the proviso to Rule 12 of the Registration of Electoral Rules, 1960, extends, for all
Assembly Constituencies in the State of Odisha, the period filing claims & objections upto
15th November, 2018 (Thursday) for the ongoing Special Summary Revision of Electoral
Rolls with reference to 1st January, 2019 as the qualifying date.
