Assignment Description

This assignment represents 50% of the total marks for this subject; The deliverables are:

1. Group project and presentation – 30%


The report must follow the standard academic format:
- Font: Times New Roman
- Font Size: 12
- Spacing: 1.5
- 2,500-3,000

There will be a group report and presentation for this assessment. Group members
should play an equal part in the presentation as it individually assessed and may present
content other than that presented in the individual assignment. All members of the
group should be prepared to answer questions on any aspect of the presentation, and
will therefore need to be familiar with the research of all group members.

2. Individual Journal Reflection of the Module – 20%

You are required to:


a. Assess (company name)’s current business models in managing its organization/
decision-making process (LO2)
b. Evaluate the company organisational structure; organisational policies or procedures in
managing its organization. (LO4)
c. Analyze the strategic contribution of Huawei’ s CEO to the planning and implementation
of decisions and monitoring the growth of the Huawei (LO5)

Note: You are required to provide proper citations and reference page when making reference
to any external sources of information, theories, concepts and frameworks when writing your
report.

PART B: INDIVIDUAL JOURNAL REVIEWS AND PRESENTATION (20%) (8 April 2014)

Select and review any TWO (2) journals which can be downloaded from the Emerald
Management database on the topics related to Managing Organisation. Discuss the findings
from the journals that you have reviewed with the class. Some of the keywords which you can
use for journals search as below:

3. Social process, decision making and organizational processes
4. Culture, individual and group behaviours
5. Organizational behaviour
6. Cross-cultural
This section has allocated 20 marks for two journals. Each journal carries 10 marks.

Marks are awarded based on the following guidelines:

70% – 100% You should be able to show good application of theories and concepts covered
in the subject. Your report should be well thought, with an in- depth analysis of
all the necessary areas. It should have clearly written points showing originality
of thought. You provide correct citations for resources used. No or very minor
grammatical errors, spelling mistakes and appropriate conclusion. Sufficient
references from various sources and not primarily from the Internet.
60% – 69% You should be able to show proper understanding of the theories and concepts
chosen from the topics covered in the subject. Your analysis is clearly written
and stated, although the contents may not be properly described. Minimal
citation problems relating to style and presentation. Minor grammatical errors,
spelling mistakes. Sufficient references but not varied.
50% – 59% You should be able to show some understanding of theories and concepts
taught in the subject. Citation problems and minor referencing problems.
Grammatical errors and spelling mistakes. Poor references.
0% - 49% You did not show understanding of the theories and concepts taught. No
analysis given or little relevant points were given, disregarding the guidelines.
Citation and referencing problems. Grammatical and spelling mistakes.
