•ADDITIONAL INFORMATION ON THE TOPIC

Republic Act No. 10533, otherwise known as the “Enhanced Basic Education Act of 2013”, was
signed into law by President Aquino on May 15, 2013. With the passage of RA 10533, the K to 12 basic
education program was formalized. The K to 12 Program covers Kindergarten and 12 years of basic
education (six years of primary education, four years of Junior High School, and two years of Senior High
School [SHS]) to provide sufficient time for mastery of concepts and skills, develop lifelong learners, and
prepare graduates for tertiary education. Prior to the implementation of the K-12 curriculum guide, the
Philippines was one of only three countries in the world and the only one in Asia that still had only 10
years in basic education. This has always been seen as a disadvantage for our students who are
competing in an increasingly global job market. The longer educational cycle of the K-12 curriculum is
seen as critical in giving Filipino students a higher quality of education.

The researchers want to identify the Advantage and Disadvantage of taking Accountancy Business
and Management under K-12 Curriculum. The researchers also want to know how this education
implementation helps the student on their desired courses to be taken in college. The effectiveness and
benefits of taking Accountancy Business and Management under K-12 education program.

•INDEPENDENT VARIABLE: Accountancy Business and Management students and their perceptions
about taking the ABM strand under K-12 Program.

•DEPENDENT VARIABLE: The positive and negative effect of taking Accountancy Business and
Management under K-12 Program.

1. What portion of Grade 12 ABM students in Dee Hwa Liong Academy are sure on their choosen
strand?

3. Does taking ABM strand under K-12 Education Program really helps the students to choose and pursue
