READING PROGRAM

Objective:
To develop and improve the reading performance of the pupils in Alviola Village Central
Elementary School

What was expected to happen?


1. Pupils and parents will be informed about the reading activities in school.
2. Conduct a meeting with the parents.
3. Conduct a reading assessment to the learners.
4. Schedule a time and place in doing the reading activity.
5. Monitor attendance of the identified slow readers or non-readers.
6. Let them read the reading materials prepared by the teacher.
7. There will be consistency of the remedial instruction.
What actually occurred?
1. Pupils and parents were informed about the program.
2. Parents attended the meeting.
3. The pupils were assessed.
4. Attendance was monitored.
5. There reading performance were improved.

What went well?


1. Pupils participated the said activity. Parents were very supportive in assisting their
children just to improve their reading performance. There were series of follow – ups
in their reading remediation. They’re given a token as their award for improving their
performance. Teachers also exerted more effort in having the remediation to help
their pupils improve.

What can be improved?

1. Conduct more reading programs for the benefit of the slow readers and none
readers.
