Polytechnic University of the Philippines celebrates their 14th
Founding Anniversary this 2019. The school was founded in year 2006
by current Caypombo Kapitan, Jesus “Ato” Mateo who was the former
Mayor of the Municipality of Sta. Maria, Bulacan. The aim of the project
is to give chance to the Santa Maria residents to be able to receive
a quality education and to succeed in life. As a State University, PUP
is known to have free tuition fee for those students who wish to step
into college. The school offers several programs such as Accountancy,
Secondary Education Major in English and Math, Computer Engineering,
Hospitality Management, Information Technology, Entrepreneurial
Management, and Diploma in Office Management.
Students of PUP are not only known for their intellect and abilities,
but also for their discipline, patience, hard work, and passion — as the
students are taught to strive for success, to start from the bottom to get
to the top. PUPians are given the chance to show off their capabilities
in the week-long event, as well as to be able to mingle not only in their
respective departments, but also in other programs. Each department
has their team names; Abnegation (The Selfless), Erudite (The Intelligent),
Amity (The Kind), Candor (The Honest), and Dauntless (The Brave).
