INDIVIDUAL REPORT/ INSIGHT DURING ENHANCED COMMUNITY IMMERSION

PROGRAM (ECIP)

RANK/NAME : PO3 FRANCIS ERIC DEMETRIA

COURSE : PSJLC 2018-01 BRAVO

DATE : SEPTEMBER 13, 2018

The Public Safety Junior Leadership Course 2018 –Bravo was directed and

tasked to conduct 3-day Enhanced Community Immersion Program (ECIP) at

Barangay Dunggo-an, Danao City, Cebu from September 10-12, 2018.

This program is purposely designed and formulated by the Philippine Public

Safety College with the support of the Department of the Interior and Local

Government and implemented by Regional Training Center 7 intended for students

who undergoing public safety courses.

The most important purpose of this program is to institute an authentic bond

and sustainable partnership between the police, community and other

stakeholders.

In line with its execution and implementation, the identified barangay was

considered as recipient of this program, wherein the students will conduct training,

seminars and lectures to the participants on the subject related to disaster

preparedness, mitigation, search and rescue, first aid and first responder, domestic
violence, drug education and crime prevention, juvenile delinquency and vice-control,

family values and responsible parenting armed and unarmed self-defence and other

relevance matters related to public safety.

It’s such a great opportunity to be part on the above-mentioned program, as

public safety officer undergoing mandatory schooling, it really help me in enhancing my

capabilities as police officer because I was able to interact directly with the people in

the community and by doing so, it further develop my community and public relations

as well as my coordination skills.

Prior to the start of the opening of ECIP, I volunteered myself to personally

coordinate with the barangay officials especially to the Chairman of Dunggo-an,

because I believe that if you want your activity to be successful, you have to

establish good rapport for those who are involved on said activity.

In every activity, preparation and coordination are the primary movers in

gaining people’s commitment. Their full support and cooperation are two essential

elements for the success of every undertaking.
