Benefits of BIM in Construction

BIM reduces rework and conflicts during construction by allowing designers and builders to collaborate digitally on shared models, improving productivity. It facilitates computerized counting of components, simulation of factors like sunlight and energy performance, and coordinated sequencing of construction steps. Overall BIM increases collaboration, delivery efficiency, and safety while reducing rework through better planning.

ADVANTAGES OF BIM

 BIM Reduces Rework.

 BIM Improves Productivity.
 BIM Reduces Conflicts and Changes During Construction.
 BIM, designers benefit from all of that input compiled and shared in a
model—in a way that paper isn’t able to capture.
 Computerized counting of components alone has been a significant
labour and money saver.
 Sharing and collaborating with models is easier than with drawing sets,
as there are a lot of functions that are possible only through a digital
workflow.
 Another of the advantages of BIM is the increasing number of simulation
tools that allow designers to visualize such things as the sunlight during
different seasons or to quantify the calculation of building energy
performance.
 With a model and an accurate set of sub models for each phase during
construction, the next step is a coordinated sequencing of steps,
materials, and crews for a more efficient construction process.
 Increased collaboration, smoother delivery and improved safety though
the integration of all contributors including the customer and facilities
managers.
 Reduced rework on-site through better planning and design
 Resource efficiencies.
