JOB INTERVIEW
Interviewer : Tell Me About Yourself
I : My name is Rahayu Dewi Pangestuti. My friends usually call me Esti. I am 21
years old. I am fresh graduated from Health Polythecnic of Semarang majoring
in Nursing. I would like to apply in your agency because I have all of your
requirements. I love to learn everything happens in human. By learning I can
help people
Interviewer : What do you find difficult about being a nurse?
I : When I first started as a nurse, I found patient to be very difficult. He was
somewhat difficult answer and describe my questions. His family told us that
the patient felt anxious and felt wretched in whole body. They have told it to the
doctor but the doctor just asked him to take a rest and don’t think too much, like
usual. A doctor just ask what and where, but a nurse will ask how and why it is
hurt. A patient could say anything to describe their pain and make confuse
others, but a nurse always has analysis to make their description clear. Firstly, I
was confused with his statement, but when I observed deeply I understand and
could do best to him.
Interviewer : Do you prefer to work alone, or as part of a team?
I : I believe that nurse is a job of a team. Nurse without a team is not nurse. To
cure a patient, we need collaborations with other health man power, like doctor,
nutritionist, pharmacist, therapist, etc. without them, the patient can’t heal well.
Even a small disease can’t be healed by nurse alone.
Interviewer : How would you handle a patient who complains constantly of pain?
I : First, I would listen sympathetically to their complaint
Second, I would reassure them that their concerns were being heard and that we
were doing everything possible to help them
Third, I would explain them to understand how and why the pain can happen
and the cause of pain.
Interviewer : What made you choose nursing as a career?
I : First, I have a passion to help someone who is sick. If I am a Nurse, I can
develop my passion to be the better one
Second, I love medical. I love learning about human, their metabolism, and
everything that happen in human being.
And, I wanted to learn how to communicate with people, patients and their
family. Because communicating with people is difficult. We think that we
understand with their mean, but actually not at all.
Interviewer : How do you handle stress on the job?
I : Honestly, I am a religious people. I believe that my job can create much stress.
So, If I felt stress, I usually pray or recite a Qur’an or listening the qiro’ah.
Interviewer : Why Health Care?
I : I love to help people especially sick people. If somebody can make difference
in feeling or people’s wellness, I will be very happy
