MITSD 203 – Project (2 nd Semester, SY 2017-2018)

Introduction:

Multimedia makes presentations more fun and interesting. It can be used in games by making the
gaming experience all the more effective and fun. Multimedia games make use of special effects to create
a whole new experience for gamers. Multimedia makes information be conveyed more easily to users. It
also helps the users make the information be understood better. It is also used for commercial purposes to
help presenters capture the attention of their client. Multimedia has become a tool to make ideals and
goals easier to communicate to stakeholders. It is also used to develop comprehensive training programs,
helps in the solving of the most difficult of the problems and also help s formulate news for chemical
reactions and their effects and help them in curing various diseases which were incurable before.

Multimedia combines different forms of media, and these are :


a Video or movie clip
b Animation
c Sound (this could be a voice-over, background music or sound clips)
d Navigation structure

Instructions for the development o f multimedia


1. Develop a multimedia relevant to your profession or work, e.g. Mathematics High School
Teacher will develop a multimedia presentation on any math topic.
2. Make use of Hanaffin and Peck Multimedia Development/Design Model

- Brainstorming, analysis, determining the objectives of the system

- Design (storyboard, flowchart, prototype, paper design, etc.)

Note: You can use any of the following multimedia authoring tools below or any tool of your
preference.

2. Microsoft Powerpoint
3. EWC Presenter
4. Piktochart

7. Soundslides
8. Cacoo
9. Amcharts

3. Follow the outline for your project write up

Contents:
Title of the Project: E.g. “A Multimedia System for Health: Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation
(CPR) First Aid”
Table of Contents
Brief Description of the Project. Include target clientele/user of the system, the objectives and
significance of your project.
Analysis
- Characteristics of your users/clienteles. Base your answer from research e.g. According
to ______ (2018), adults are visual……..
Design – screenshots of prototypes used, paper pencil design, story board, flowchart
Development
- Mention authoring tool used
- Screenshots of each multimedia page or slide
- Include testing done if any E.g. presentation/critiquing/feedback of fellow
programmers, walkthrough (if any)
Implementation
- Include a simple implementation/installation plan.

4. Submit the documentation/write up using a short coupon bond (8.5” x 11”).


5. Font size of text is 11pt, double spaced
6. Use a short folder (color is light blue)
7. Save and submit your packaged multimedia system in a CD with hard casing. The case should
be with a cover which contains the title of your multimedia project and your name.
