NDS 2018 Bolt Connection Design

The document provides design details for two wood connections: a bolt connection and a nailer connection. For each connection, it lists input parameters, checks steel and wood capacities, and verifies that design values are adequate. The bolt connection uses 3 bolts to resist an axial force of 5.3 kips in Douglas fir lumber. The nailer connection uses 6 threaded studs spaced at 12 inches to resist 8 kips of force transferred through a nailer into Douglas fir. Both connections are determined to have satisfactory capacity based on provisions in the 2018 NDS standard.
