PAG-UNLAD MO PROGRAM

Problem Statement

Good nutrition is the bedrock of child survival and child development.

Well-nourished children are better able to grow and learn as cited by Nnam
2018. To learn well, our children and youth need to eat well. Nutrition plays a
key role in the healthy development of our children and youth. Nutritious foods
provide our body and mind with the energy needed to grow, feel well, be
active, stay healthy and learn.

Based on the School Report Card (SRC) of Dona Manuela Elementary

School, regarding the Nutritional Status Report SY 2018-2019 107 out of 2 063 or
5.17 per cent were classified as severely wasted; 154 out of 2 063 or 7.46 per
cent were classified as wasted.

Yet malnutrition is linked to nearly half of all childhood deaths under 5 —

stealing about 3 million young lives a year. And for millions of children, chronic
malnutrition will result in stunting – an irreversible condition that literally stunts
their physical and mental growth.

In this regard, Dona Manuela Elementary School will conduct a project

entitled Pagkain Mo, Sagot Ko Para sa Tuloy-tuloy na Pag-unlad mo Program:
A feeding program to enhance learner’s nutritional status. The basis of this
project is the result of the end line result of the Nutritional Status Report 2018-
2019.
Project Objective Statement

To increase and enhance the learners nutritional status such as, body mass,
BMI and the likes.

Root Cause
