Assignment of:

Data Analytics (CETM27)

The assessment for CETM27 includes one coursework assignment which will cover
all learning outcomes of the module: (1) to research and present their critical
evaluation of a specific area of data analytics, and (2) to design, develop, test and
evaluate data analytics approach for a practical application. The submission
requirements will consist of a report of 3000 words maximum with focusing on your
work and your insight gained from given task of data analytics plus appendices
containing references, design documentation, code, screenshots, raw data, etc..

LEARNING OUTCOMES

Upon successful completion of this module, students will have demonstrated

Knowledge

1. A critical appreciation of trends, tools, and current developments in the area


of Data Analytics.
2. A critical understanding of the theory and practical application of a range of
Data Analytics.
Skills
3. The ability to critically assess, choose and apply the appropriate Data
Analytics formalisms and the skills for problem-solving on practical problems.
4. The ability to define, explain and interpret the results obtained from the
practical application of Data Analytics.

Assignment

Deadline for submission of final report: 15 June 2018 at 2:00pm.

You are required to present your work in a report (see page 3 for the outline of
report) that answers three key elements:
(1) the strategy for the data re-organisation and transformation,
(2) the pipeline and framework supporting data analytics;
(3) the demonstration of the effectiveness of the data analytics approaches.

Important Information
It is important you demonstrate your initiative and originality of the work. The work
must be entirely your own work and you must not let another student copy your work.

health and wellbeing themes that has been designed to improve health
and wellbeing.

Aim:
To provide data analytics functions that support a wider range of health professions
to access and analyse the public health data and support their decision-making.

(a) to gain key understanding of the data on the selected on the fingertips, including
the types of data, the structure of the data, the organisation of the data, the meta-
data and the indicators involved.
(b) to define an effective way for the access of data, and re-organisation of the data
that can support data analytics.
(c) to define research question(s) that you intend to work on the selected subjects
(d) to develop a pipeline and framework for the data analytics, and to demonstrate
the effectiveness of the methods, and to interpret the analytics results.
