Circular Curve Setting Examples

Two tangents intersect at a chainage of 1000 m with a deflection angle of 30 degrees. All necessary data is calculated to set out a 200 m radius circular curve using offsets from the chord produced, taking peg intervals of 20 m. A second example has tangents intersecting at 1250 m with a 150 degree angle of intersection. All data is calculated to set out a 250 m radius curve using the deflection angle method with 20 m peg intervals.

Example:
Two tangents intersect at a chainage of 1000 m, the deflection angle being 30 degree. Let us
calculate all necessary data for setting out a circular curve of 200 m radius by the method of offsets from
the chord produced, taking a peg interval of 20 m.
Example:
Two tangents intersect at a chainage of 1250 m. The angle of intersection is 150 degree. Let us
calculate all data necessary for setting out a curve of 250 m radius by deflection angle method. The peg
interval may be taken as 20 m
