Bladeless Fan Design Conclusion

The author applied skills learned in their mechanical engineering courses to design a bladeless fan. They used CAD modeling in SolidWorks and MATLAB for plots. Concepts from fluid dynamics, heat transfer, and mechanical design courses were critical to determining design constraints and feasibility. The bladeless fan design was effective for safety and noise reduction compared to traditional fans.

CONCLUSION

During the course of this project I was able to apply quite a few skills and concepts that
I’d learned during my B.S.M.E. The design utilized CAD modeling software in Solid
Works and basic MATLAB scripting for the plots. Processes taught in my Design of
Mechanical Components, Concepts of Design, and ME Lab courses were also directly
applicable to determining designconstraints and feasibility as well as providing exposure
to the 3D printing process. Anunderstanding of concepts such as Bernoulli’s Principle,
which is the center of this design, as well as convective heat transfer were critical to this
project and also picked up during my coursework.
This idea of making Bladeless Fan is effective in almost every aspect mainly the safety
considerations and noise intensity as compared to a normal table
