The Girl in the Mirror

In a faraway land, there lives a little girl who is admired by many for her
knowledge and bravery. She may be small but her ideas and intelligence is far
taller than her physical size. She travels from town to town to showcase her
intelligence in different competitions. She wins in every battle and people adore
her. But she gets tired of doing the same thing upon learning that people only
value her because of her success. Later on, she begin to failed and lose her
battles. People throw words on her face saying she is nothing but an ugly loser.
She started joining pageants to prove that she is not ugly. She may win runner
up but there is still a big difference upon winning the crown and just being a
runner up. She faces the mirror and asks herself, “Would people love me if I
become beautiful?” She begins exploring her beauty. She started using different
kind of soaps, scented lotions and perfumes. She started learning how to put
make up to make herself confident. Her mantra became, “I have to be beautiful
so people will love me.” In the end, she gains the approval of some people but
she also has her fake friends turn to enemy. It may be bitterness or insecurities.
She became sad for losing people whom she trusted. She gets tired with her life.
She gets tired looking for approval. She cries in front of her mirror while holding
bottles of medicine, a knife in her other hand and a bunch of ropes in her lap.
Which would she choose? Which would stop the sadness and make the pain go
away? She cries and cries as if her feelings will fade. She sat on her bed and
faces her wall where her dreams are painted. She once dreams to be an
engineer but her family wants her to be an accountant but deep in her heart, she
is dreaming of becoming a lawyer. Will she still be able to study law if she will fail
to wear her toga on time? She has so many questions with no answer and finally,
she has decided. She will finish her sadness so she grabs a pen and a note to
write her final words. As she begins writing, she remembers her past, all the
pains and sadness but she also remembers what her teachers would always tell
them. There is hope. There are failures, struggles and trials but there are more
blessings waiting ahead. There is beauty in life. She faces the mirror one last
time. Is this how she wants her story to end? Is this how she wants to be
remembered? No! She is stronger than that. She wipes the tears and smile at the
mirror. She points herself at the mirror and said, “Hey little girl in the mirror,
you’ve done so much in the past. You’ve been betrayed, crushed and step down
by your family and friends, yet you are here. You are still alive. You are beautiful
inside and out. You are brave. You are intelligent. Never let your grades define
who you are. Never let their standards define who you are. Never ever let them
stop you from becoming who you wanted to be and how you wanted to be. Dress
up all you want. You can sing and dance. Life is beautiful. You don’t need to be
afraid. Someone up there has already win your fight, you just got to be still.” (
Never let them dull your sunshine, self.)
The Girl in the Mirror

Ella comienza a explorar
su belleza. Comenzó a usar diferentes tipos de jabones, lociones perfumadas y
perfumes.
recordada? ¡No! Ella es más fuerte que eso. Se limpia las lágrimas y sonríe al
espejo.
Puedes cantar y bailar. La vida es bella.
No necesitas tener miedo.
SHE

She is sick.

She is sad.

She is furious.

And she is tired.

When did it start?

When will the pain stop?

How far can she fly?

How long can she go?

She was bounded by fears

For she was tied by darkness;

Her eyes are full of tears

As her heart are full of miseries

She has to speak

But no one has listen

She wanted to hope

That tomorrow might be good

She wrote her sadness

So people can understand

That a girl like her exists,

Someone who cries but still believes.

SHE

Ella esta enferma

Ella esta triste

Ella esta furiouso

Y ella esta cansado

¿Cuándo empezo?

¿Cuándo se detendrá el dolor?

¿Que tan lejos puede volar?

¿Cuanto tiempo puede ir ella?

Ella estaba rodeada de miedos

Porque estaba atada por la oscuridad

Sus ojos estan llenos de lagrimas

Como su corazón está lleno de miserias

Ella tiene que hablar

Pero nadie ha esuchado

Ella queria esperar

Que mañana puede ser bueno

Ella escribio su tristeza

Para que la gente pueda entender

Que una chica como ella existe

Alguien que llora pero aun cree
