PROJECT REPORT
“DETECTIVE EYE”
BHUBATIA CHOWK
LAHORE, PUNJAB PAKISTAN
05-05-2019
Executive Summary
This “Detective Eye” is designed to help the people so they could drive smoothly
without any [Link] device will enable them to avoid a diverse variety of
obstacles like walls, speed bumps, cars, other human beings or animals in some cases,
list does not end here rather it is so smartly designed that it can also detect pit-holes,
main holes, and diggings so the user could save his life.
One of the main problems observed in Pakistan is, under age driving, where children
drive bikes or cars at high speed and cause potential threat to the person in dark
climate or weather conditions. So our team came with an innovative idea to illuminate
the “Detective Eye” with LEDs using a technological solution that continuously scans
and when dark is detected, precautionary measures are automatically adopted.
We believe, there is always scope for improvement and our product can also be made
better as it offers a wide room for future enhancements and updates.
Further features and details can be viewed in upcoming sections.
Introduction
Problem
The ratio of accident is increasing nowadays due to technology advancement and
speedy vehicles. The life of everybody whether it is an animal or human is
[Link] organization is facing increasing ratio of damaged vehicles due to
increasing the rate of accidents with passage of time and technology advancement and
also loosing goodwill in the market.
Solution
This DE primarily utilizes Ultrasonic and I/R OD sensors to detect obstacles while a
secondary LDR sensor is used to light up “night time warning lights”. The ultrasonic
sensor is purposed to detect standing/moving obstacles like cars and walls at longer
distances and when any object is detected a warning sound is played at buzzer, while
I/R OD is meant to detect holes and diggings right in front of user’s feet and uses
vibration motor along buzzer sound to aware its operator about obstacle.
While LDR that is a light detection sensor, detects dark and used to glow up LEDs so
that a message could be notified to surrounding human beings about presence of user.
This is an Arduino based circuit where code is burnet over Arduino UNO circuit board
that processes inputs and displays output accordingly using output channels those are
interlinked via a solderless breadboard using jumper wires where entire circuit is
located.
Why did work on this project.?
This project should be implemented as safety measure. If organization use other
alternative method such as air beg it safe passengers and driver from accident but does
not the vehicle. If the organization does not follow the project then ratio of claim and
accidents may increase. The Project is also aligned with corporate strategy and
objectives since it uses technology to improve the way we do business. Moreover
other alternatives and the status quo were analyzed, this Project was selected for
proposal in this business case because it provides the best opportunity to realize
benefits in an expedited manner while also allowing for the greatest improvement in
efficiency and cost reduction. Other alternatives assumed greater risk, provided less
benefits, were too difficult to define, or were not suitably aligned with current
corporate strategy and/or objectives.

Work Performed
In order to effectively migrate existing technology or manufacturing process to the
new advanced technology i.e. DE, a phased approach has been developed. The
following is a high-level overview of the phased approach:
Phase I: All components will be purchased for DE system that is require for
vehicle and tested by the IT development group.
Phase II: IT group will build a temporary device.
Phase III: IT group members will put the DE device into the car.
Phase IV: IT group will check its performance whether it is working well or
not.
Phase V: The final DE device will be launched in final presentation
Project Description
The DE Project will facilitate the vehicle manufacturing organizations that will install
detective eye (device) into vehciles so that not only they could save human lives but
also may increase its goodwill in the market and this feature will secure the product of
the organization. The DE eye is consisit of ultrasonic sensor, infrared radiation sensor
and [Link] features are described below;
Ultrasonic Sensor:
Ultrasonic Sensor works by transmitting ultrasonic/high frequency
waves and then by receiving them at its receiver antenna, where
distance is calculated and position is clued.
I/R Sensor:
IR Sensor is used to sense certain characteristics of its surroundings
by emitting and detecting infrared radiation.
LDR:
LDR is light detection sensor that is used to measure intensity of light.
Thus DE will decrease the ratio of accidents and it will secure driving and human
lives.

significant improvement in our operating costs and is a clear indicator of the benefit
this project will have on the company.
Quality
Problems During Project
The following constraints apply to the DE Project. As project planning begins and
more constraints are identified, they will be added accordingly.
There are limited IT resources available to support the DE Project and
other, ongoing, IT initiatives.
There are a limited technological components are available in the market
that will be used to make DE device.
As implementation will be done internally and not by the product
developers or vendors, there will be limited support from the components
providers.
