ABSTRACT
Blood is a tissue that flows and circulates through a channel vascular. Blood carries
various necessities of life for all body cells and receive metabolic waste products to be
excreted through excretion organ. In the blood there are various kinds of substances
including protein, carbohydrates, fats and elements of sodium and chloride. The first
test substaces is Protein we must compound 10 cc of plasma oxalate, 1 drop of aquades
and 10 drops of Millon solution the existence of a change in color to pale yellow in

10 cc of plasma oxalate and 10 drops of benedict There is brick red sediment;the third
tes substaces is Chloride we must 10 cc of plasma oxalate,10 drops of silver nitrate
there is sediment and cloudy solution; and the last tes substances is Natrium we must
10 cc plasma oxalate,10 drops of hydrochloric acid and 10 drops of sodium oxalate the

INTRODUCTION
Blood is a tissue that flows and circulates through a channel vascular. Blood
carries various necessities of life for all body cells and receive metabolic waste
products to be excreted through excretion organ. The blood is composed of blood cells
(erythrocytes, leukocytes and platelets) which circulates in a liquid called plasma.
Blood plasma is a very complex mixture of anion cation proteins. Protein plasma
consists of several groups. The first group is a group of proteins that can provide
nutritional cells, the second group is a group of proteins involved in the transport of
other chemicals including hormones, minerals, and intermediates and the last is a group
of proteins related to defense against disease(Lawrance. 2005).
Carbohydrates are also important in the blood as well as their functions. The main
function of carbohydrates is energy source for the body to work optimally. Most of
the carbohydrates in foods we consume will be interested and broken down into
glucose and then absorbed by the bloodstream. With the help of insulin, cells called
adenosine triphosphate (ATP) cells can oxidize glucose. ATP is then responsible for
the energy needed to perform metabolic functions, nerve impulses, muscle
contractions, and various other functions . Sodium is an important nutrient for humans
that regulates blood pressure and somotic balance and pH(Nasution, 2006) . In
activities it is expected to prove that in the blood there are various kinds of elements
and substances including protein, fat, carbohydrates, sodium and chloride.
METHOD
In the first activity we have to make plasma oxalate filtrate by compound Na
Oxalate, NaCl 0.9% and blood into the test tube, after that in the centrifuge for 30
minutes. After being centrifuged there will be plasma oxalate created, then prepare
bunsen burners and compound 55 cc of distilled water, 10 cc plasma oxalate and 1 drop
of oxalic acid into a beaker and then heat, the last one filtered using filter paper.
In the second activity we have to prove the protein content in the blood by entering
10 cc of plasma oxalate, 1 drop of aquades and 10 drops of millon into the test tube
afterwards note the color change.
In the third activity we have to prove the carbohydrate content in blood entering
10 cc of plasma oxalate and 10 drops benedict drops into the test tube then heat
afterwards note the color change.
In the fourth activity we have to prove the cloride content in blood entering 10 cc
plasma oxalat,10 drops of silver nitrate into the test tube afterwards note the color
change.
The last activity we have to prove the Narium content in blood entering 10 cc
plasma oxalat, 10 drops hydrochloric acid, 10 drops natrium oxalat into the test tube
afterwards note the color change.
RESULT
No. Test substance Substances added Changes that occur
1 Protein 10 cc of plasma Pale yellow in color, there is
oxalate + 1 drop of sediment
aquades + 10 drops
of Millon solution
2 Carbohydrate 10 cc of plasma There is brick red sediment
oxalate + 10 drops of
benedict
3 Chloride 10 cc of plasma There is sediment and cloudy
oxalate + 10 drops of solution
silver nitrate
4 Natrium 10 cc plasma oxalate Yellow in color and rather clear
+ 10 drops of
hydrochloric acid +
10 drops of sodium
oxalate
DISCUSSION
In the first activity we observing the test for the presence of observing protein
tests in the blood, after dropping Millont reagent solution on plasma oxalate filtrate, the
solution will change color and there will be white sediment. The results obtained
according to the theory that a solution containing proteins will change color and there
is white sediment if a solution of benedict is pressed. this also indicates that proteins in
cow blood are observed.
In the second activity we observing the test for the presence of carbohydrate
tests in the blood, after dropping benedict solution on plasma oxalate filtrate, the
solution will change color and there will be red brick sediment. The results obtained
according to the theory that a solution containing carbohydrates will change color and
there is an orange or red brick sediment if a solution of benedict is pressed. this also
indicates that carbohydrates in cow blood are observed.
In the third activity we observing the test for the presence of chloride in the
blood, after dropping silver nitrate on the plasma oxalate filtrate, a sediment and cloudy
solution was obtained. the results obtained according to the theory that solutions
containing carbohydrates will turn cloudy and there will be sediment. this also
indicates that there is chloride in cow blood observed.
In thefourth activity we observing the test for the presence of sodium in the
blood, after dropping hydrochloric acid on plasma oxalate filtrate, it was found that the
color change was yellow in color and rather clear. the results obtained according to the
theory that a solution containing carbohydrates will turn yellowish. this also indicates
that there is chloride in cow blood observed.
CONCLUTION
Protein: Pale yellow in color, there is sediment; Carbohydrate:There is brick red
sediment; Chloride: There is sediment and cloudy solution; Natrium; Yellow in color
and rather clear. Color changes that occur in this activity can prove that in the blood
there are various kinds of elements and substances contained in it.
