Summary:
Social media is very popular for the use of communication and entertainment. However,
can it help during work? Can it help the workers to be more productive and efficient at
work? Yes, it can. People are very familiar in social media and applying it to work can
help to achieve more. Social media can give better communication, build relationships,
gain more knowledge, increase hiring, and always be updated.

Introduction (45 seconds):

(Play music and insert images of social media logos) Twitter, Facebook,
Instagram, LinkedIn, YouTube are the most popular social media platforms in today’s
world. Many people have a social media account. People use them for communication,
networking, entertainment, research, to share ideas, photos, and videos.
Now, how can social media change the workplace? Many people think that social
media is a distraction to the employees. However, it is the complete opposite. People
are very familiar with social media and why not apply it to the workplace? Social media
can achieve more. For instance, it can help to increase knowledge, communication,
efficiency and productivity. Let’s begin!
1. Better Communication (25 seconds):
VOICEOVER
(Insert an image) Communication is always the key for productivity. It helps people to
work better and faster. The best way to be communicated is through social media. If a
worker needs help or have an issue about work. He or she can easily send a message,
post, or comment on the social network. All they got to do is make a click on the
comment section or DM (Deliver Message) section. Then, Human Resources or
coworkers can easily respond and provide the resources. This will help people to work
more efficiently and rapidly.
2. Gain more Knowledge (15 seconds):

(Insert an image) Human Resource can post a training or motivation contents on the
social network. So, the employees can learn to be more motivated, productive and
efficient. Also, social media is a great way to research. The workers can look for
information about their job, so they can create more ideas from what they learned.
Then, they can easily apply it to work. This will help them to increase their knowledge.
3. Hiring (20 seconds):

(Insert an image) People are always using the Internet to look for a job. Human
Resource can take advantage to announce a job offer on social media. They can give a
description of the employment, the requirements, and responsibilities. Also, HR can
easily see submitted resumes, people’s unanswered questions and communicate with
the applicant. Lastly, HR can do an online interview, which makes the time and location
very flexible. This can make the hiring process much faster.
4. Build a Better Relationship among Coworkers (40 seconds):

(Play a sound clip of people chattering) A lot of people use social media outside of work.
It’s a great mental break, to forget about reality for a little while. Yet, how does it help
building a better a relationship? Workers will follow or send a friend request in social
media. It will help them learn more about their coworkers, find their common ground,
and they will collaborate more in the workplace. For instance,
Mark: (Man’s voice) “Hey Jenna! I loved the video you shared on Facebook. I thought it
was hilarious!”
Jenna: (Woman’s voice) “Really? Thanks Mark!”
It looks like Jenna and Mark are getting along. Which is great! In every workplace, the
goal is to always have a positive environment.
5. Always Updated (15 seconds):
VOICEOVER
(Play a sound clip of a cell phone) People use social media to announce upcoming
events, reminders, and due dates. It helps the employees to stay on track. What makes
even better is when the employee has the notification bell or reminder on in their cell-
phones.
