Note: This estimate is only as good as the information supplied. Very large appliances are not economical
to run on a solar powered remote power system. The large appliances below are for information purposes
only.

typical for a
residence. There are several blank rows at the bottom of the worksheet for additional
appliances.
3. "S" Column: Indicate the quantity of the particular appliance that is likely to be on at the
same time as other appliances. A zero or leaving the cell blank indicates that the appliance(s)
are not assumed to be on at the same time as other appliances.
4. "Run Watts" Column: This column is already filled in with typical wattages. If you know the
actual watts (or even better, volt-amps) consumed by the appliance you plan to use, put that

column: For almost all appliances, this column can be left blank. However, if
you know the surge wattage of an appliance to be very large, then write that wattage in this
column.
6. "Hours/Day" column: Indicate the average number of hours per day that the appliance will
be on.
7. "Days/Week" column: Indicate the number of days per week that the device will typically
be used.
8. "Watt-Hrs/Day" column: You do not need to do anything with this column.
9. "%" column: You do not need to do anything with this column.
10. If you will be using any DC appliances, write them on the "DC Loads" worksheet. Note: if
you are filling this out electronically, to get to the "DC Loads" worksheet, simply click on the tab labeled "DC
Loads" at the lower left corner of the screen.
11. To size your solar power system yourself, fill out the "Sizing" worksheet by clicking on the
tab labeled "Sizing" in the lower left corner of the screen. (Most customers skip this step and
let All Solar do it for them.)
