Settling In at An-Nur: Issa's Journey

Issa has been attending the early childhood center An-Nur for two days a week for the past two weeks. While Issa feels safe with their sister Miriam there, adjusting away from their mother has been difficult. However, the teacher reassures that Issa will soon grow comfortable in the new environment and view An-Nur as a second home as they make friends and gain confidence through the routines, faces, spaces and learning at the center.

Kia Ora, Issa

Welcome to An-Nur, Issa.

You have been at An-nur for 2 days a week for

2weeks now, & I am getting to know you. Having

your sister Miriam here is great for you as you

can feel safe beside her. During the settling time,

you may find it hard to be away from your Mum,

but it wont take long and you will be so busy, you

will soon think of An-Nur as a second home!

The story so far…

You are learning about your new environment. You love to be with Miriam and you are

observing the other children & teachers. At the moment you feel safe being held by a

teacher or in the pram. Soon you will be making lots of new friendships and growing

your confidence. We love to see you smile when we take your photo!

You will be learning a lot in the beginning of your time here, new rou-

tines, new faces, new spaces and objects. You are beginning to feel

safe at An-nur
