Argumentative Reflection Graphic Organizer

The title of this assignment was “Working Mother Argumentative Essay”. In this assignment I

got a 44/60. This assignment was completed in [Link]’s English class during the fall

semester of my junior year at HPIAM High School. In this assignment I was asked to write an

essay about working parents and whether they should or should not be there with their children. I

agreed that parents should spend more time with their children because, many times, children

need help with their tasks and also when they are alone because they may start to do bad things.

This assignment is an argumentative piece because I needed to make a decision on whether

working parents should spend more time with their kids or should they work more and have less

time with them. I had to present arguments that support my point of view on the topic. I had to

do research to find evidence to support my arguments.

In this assignment I was a critical thinker because I understood my point of view in the

argumentative essay. I established it with evidence and explanations. I analyzed the article,

understood it, and made a final decision on my point of view. I had to make sure that I was using

the best argument to support my point of view. Lastly I had to make sure I used reliable sources

when I did my research.

This helped me improve in analyzing texts by focusing on using text based evidence. I improved

my critical thinking skills by learning how to make a better decision when choosing a side. I also

understand articles that I read better now. I still need to improve my writing because I still have

many errors when I write my essay. I need to better proofread my essay before turning it in. This
well help me a lot because In every moment because I need to analyze things that happen in life.

I have to read and focus on the text to find evidence to support my point of view when I write

essays in college.
