Who: Kevin Rieck

Where: Claremont Fire Hall

Interview Questions:

1. What is your current position/job title?

President and Owner of an construction company.

2. What is your education/background?

I earned High School Diploma. Went to a two year school for carpentry. I also have

a CAD system Degree.

3. Do you have any special skills/experiences relating to the Trade Shortage?

I work with Carpentry, and see how little people there are for this area/ field of

work.

4. On average, how much do you work a week?

I usually work around 65 hours week.

​5. Do the seasons affect your work?

Yes. The temperature plays a big role. I don't know anyone who wants to work

outside in negative degree weather. During the winter I am usually slower than compared

to the spring, summer, and fall.


6. Have you ever been laid off?

No, I have never been laid off. It helps that i'm the owner of my own business and

don’t have to worry about that.

7. How many jobs have you had?

I’ve had five jobs.

​8. How long have you worked for this job?

I have worked this current job for over 16 years. So since i've been out of college, i

have been working at this job.

9. What was/is your dream job?

I Believe I am doing it right now.

10. Why did you choose this job/field of work?

I was asked by someone to join this area of work. I was scared at first, but found out

pretty quickly that this is what i wanted to do.
