2016 Division ICT Literacy Training-Workshop


To: District Supervisors
Public Junior High School Heads
Public Elementary School Heads

1. The Department of Education’s ICT Service Office has directed the Schools Division Offices to conduct the ICT Skills
Development Training Workshop for ICT Coordinators and teachers to prepare them for the roll-out of School-Based ICT
Skills Development Training-Workshop to their fellow teachers.

2. In line with this, the 2016 Division ICT Literacy Training-Workshop will be held at Anne Raquel’s Resort in New Cabalan,
Olongapo City on the following dates:
Batch 1 - August 10. 11, 12, 2016 Batch 2 - August 17, 18, 19, 2016
3. This training-workshop aims to:
a. prepare participants for the roll-out of School-Based ICT Skills Development Training-Workshop.
b. equip the participants with relevant ICT-knowledge and skills to be used for teaching and learning.
c. train School ICT Coordinators in their various roles in supporting DepED Information Systems
d. conduct a baseline study on ICT Literacy of teachers and the designated District/School ICT Coordinators
4. The target participants are the following:
a. District ICT Coordinators for Curriculum Integration – (preferably ICT-literate Elementary School Head)
b. District ICT Coordinators for Technical Services (preferably Teacher with IT Technical-expertise)
c. ICT-Literate Teacher from elementary and junior high schools (the number of participants per district is listed in the
attached enclosure)

5. Participants are required to:


a. bring a wifi-enabled laptop (preferably DCP grant if available)
b. an electrical extension cord
c. a pocket Wi-Fi (preferably school property if available)
d. pre-register online on or before August 5, 2016 at [Link]
e. answer the ICT Literacy survey on or before August 5, 2016 at [Link]
6. Meals and snacks, training supplies/materials, and other expenses relative to this training shall be charged to the SARO
intended for the conduct of ICT Literacy Training-Workshop while travelling expenses of the participants shall be charged
against their respective school MOOE and other available funds subject to usual accounting and auditing rules and
regulations.
7. All participants will receive a Certificate of Appearance and a Certificate of Proficiency for each skill to be trained, however
their Certificates of Training Completion (24 hours) will be given once they completed the required School-based ICT
Literacy Training for their fellow teachers, thus a Certificate of Recognition as School-based ICT Trainer will also be issued
to them.
8. Attached to this Memorandum are the following enclosures:
a. Number of Participants per batch
b. Trainers
c. Training Matrix
9. Immediate dissemination of this memorandum to all concerned is desired.
