2nd Grade Music Lesson Plan

The 2nd grade lesson plan aims to teach students about musical rhythms like quarter notes and half notes. Students will practice identifying beat versus rhythm, singing songs with different rhythmic patterns, and singing in a round. They will decode rhythms by singing songs like "Bells at Twilight" and a new song "Cut the Cake" that incorporates movements. Rhythmic elements like ta, ti ti, quarter rests, and half notes will be reinforced through songs, patterns, and lining up to stretch to a song using half notes.
