Aims
The main aims of this lesson are to…
 Analyze the construction of a stairs by using a physical model to help
understand the fundamental components needed to construct and stabilize the
stairs as well as the safety features included to ensure maximum effect
 Connect information learned from analyzing the physical model to theoretical
information outlined in the book in order to under pin the knowledge being
looked for in the leaving cert assessment
 Investigate the calculations needed to construct a stairs – ensure safety
regulations and optimum calculations are taken into consideration when making
out calculations which will comply with standards and regulations
