3rd Grade Lesson Plan 3.

1. Goal: To practice do, re, mi, so, la; practice ta, ti ti and quarter rest; prep half note

2. Objectives: SWBAT
 ID/read/perform ta, ti ti, quarter rest, and half notes in songs and patterns
 ID notes as being d, r, m, s, or l
 Perform a composition using ta, ti ti, and quarter rest
 Sing a song in harmony
 Play instruments with correct technique

3. Materials: mrd patterns; bean bags

2. MRD Echo Patterns
 Echo patterns on staff with T.

3. Bells at Twilight
 Echo phrases with steady beat to review
 Review where the new “long” rhythm is
 Echo rhythm with rhythm tappers and show “long” rhythm
 Place rhythm for song on board under hearts
 Intro new half note!
o Show that it takes up 2 heart beats
o Tap and say rhythm
o Tap and sing with words

4. Plainsies, Clapsies
 Sing and play game for movement activity!

5. Hop Old Squirrel (NEW!)


 T. intros song and asks questions
 Echo phrases with steady beat
 Echo with hand signs
 Sing whole song with steady beat!
