QUESTION FOR NOZZLE MULTIPLE OPENINGS:
Note the following configuration as shown in figure below.
As mentioned in ASME SEC VIII DIV -1 UG-42(a)(1) & FIG. UG-42 (B). the overlapping
area is required to be proportioned between the openings by the ratio of their diameters.
In this case, since the nozzle A,B & C are having equal diameters, their dia. limits are
also equal (=3000mm). When we reduce the dia. limit for nozzles A & B considering the
proportions, the overlap with nozzle C is cleared (there is 61.86 mm clearance).
Question is - do we still need to reduce the dia. limit for nozzle C considering 88.14 mm
overlap or can we use 3000mm without reduction?
- What about the same case for ASME Sec viii div 2?
