DESCRIPTION

The prehispanic foundation of the place was realized by totonacos


groups dominated by texcoco.

In the nineteenth century it was part of the old zacatlan district; in


1895 it was constituted as a free municipality.
LOCATION

The municipality of Tepetzintla is located in the northeastern part


of the state of Puebla. Its geographical coordinates are the parallels
19 ° 53 '54 "and 19 ° 59' 06" of longitude north, and the meridians
97 ° 47 '36 "and 97 ° 55' 12" of western length.

Its borders are to the north with Ahuacatlan and Tepango de


Rodriguez, to the south with Zacatlan and Tetla de Ocampo, to the
west with the Municipalities of Tepango de Rodriguez and
Cuautempan, Huitzilan Serdan and Tetela de Ocampo and west
with Zacatlan.
GEOGRAPHY

The municipality is located in the northern highlands of the state of


Puebla, in the first region of the state, is at an average height of
1680 meters above sea level.

CUSTOMS AND HABITS
Popular holidays:

on August 15, celebration of the patronal feast with processions and dance.
also celebrate with great grandiosity on Thursday of Corpus. This festivity
takes place in the municipal head of the same municipality.

On November 1 and 2, celebration of all the saints and different people. Holy
Week is celebrated with great solemnity.

The Corpus Thursday is celebrated, a fair with the dances of Negritos


huehues, tereros and Aztecs.

Typical costumes: women wear black skirt, white blouse, shawl or shawl.

The men wear calzon and camiza blanket, palm hat, belt huarache, backpack
