Limits of an AI
A Reflection to the Movie “Zoe”

In the movie Zoe, I was really shock about how Artificial Intelligence (AI) is being built

and shown like a normal people who can think and talk. Compare it to myself, I can’t even

imagine building a simple calculator. I know the movie is not the same as the actual AI

nowadays but we can’t disregard the fact that we, people have achieved the best technology, the

AI. People in this modern generation have been craving about how to perfect this AI but I never

really expected how advanced they are now especially in other countries. That’s why year after

year AI now became a hot topic on Magazines and News. And for me, it is really worth clapping

for it is now the human’s greatest creation.

On the contrary, the movie showed the flaws of this modern technology actual goal. The

creators of Zoe predicted the effectiveness of the love of the couple basing from too many

observations. They really think that their AI’s percentage is the certain way to prove that their

love will be a success or failure. Because of this percentage, couple have broken up like Cole in

the movie and his ex-wife. But now the question is: Can technology really measures us?

In the case of the Benysol(a drug that can simulates feelings of romantic euphoria), the

creators think that they can now bring back the love of couples. They thought that it can just

prolong and make the love of the couple renew and lasting but as the movie goes on, it was

abused by many because it was used for triggering sex. Thus, the creator’s goal for that drug is

being altered. Like in reality, even if the scientist wanted solely that their inventions to improve

our lives, some people will really abused it and mislead the point of that technology.
In conclusion, what my mind tells me is that AI can be a significant mark of the

capabilities of the human mind especially in technology. It can really help us in many different

areas. But people must have limitations about using this. We should not eradicate the deeper

sense of why people building this high technologies.

Another negative point is to say that technology such as AI can measure human being is

not really agreeable to the fact that creator and creature can’t be equal. Humans have rationality

that no technology or even another human can measure and this AI who is not even a human,

basically and commonsensically can’t really measure us also. Hence, AI is a good invention. We

should not abused it and we should be aware of its limitations.
