satID® & Geolocation Training Courses

Welcome
The success of satID lies not just with a great product that is easy to use and understand but also with the training
and Maintenance & Support programs that provide both initial and ongoing support to users, ensuring that they
get the most out of the product. Training in Geolocation and satID operations has been broken down into a series
of modules which allows courses to be constructed based on the needs of individual organizations and operators.

These modules are then brought together into standard courses that are expected to be delivered many times. In
addition to the standard courses, an Advanced Training Course is offered, where customized courses can be
constructed using the modules to fit the exact needs of you and your users.

As with all aspects of satID, we welcome your constructive feedback so that we can best support you and your
team in ongoing operations.

The satID team.

Training Courses

Standard satID Operator Training Course
The standard Operator training course is the one recommended when introducing geolocation and satID
operations to a new group of Users. Typically, this course is given immediately following the delivery of a system.
The course lasts 4 days and is intended to introduce the following topics to the users and enable them to use satID
effectively:

 Geolocation theory
 Standard geolocation operations
 Standard data management and best practices
 Identifying and handling difficult scenarios

This course is designed for a maximum of 6-8 attendees. This is to maximize the amount of time each attendee has
on the system. A meeting room with projector is needed for all classroom activities with a network connection
either to an Operator workstation with the satID GUI installed or directly to the satID system for the instructor’s
laptop to connect in to the system.

For the course to run smoothly, a set of reference signals must be provided in advance so that scenarios can be
investigated and prepared where possible. Ideally, 6-10 reference signals should be supplied for a single pair of
satellites for the purposes of training but a minimum of 4 is required. It is recommended that each trainee have
either a softcopy or printed copy of the training material on hand during the class.
