Principal
Victoria was a student teacher in my Kindergarten classroom from November
to December 2017. During this time she conducted lessons for upwards of 75
students in four half day Kindergarten classes at our school. She demonstrated many
qualities during this time such as detailed plans, willingness to alter and adapt to
newly presented challenges and creating meaningful learning for students. When
provided with suggestions or challenged to try new ideas or overarching questions for
a more broad learning for students she embraced the idea willingly and brought
students to a new level of understanding. Her journal reflections were thoughtfully
laid out and showed a genuine level of care and understanding about her growth as a
young professional.

Victoria consistently demonstrated a love for young children in a very diverse high
needs setting that included students with a variety of needs such as a 75% English
Language Learning population, severe speech and language and behavioural concerns
and fine and gross motor needs. She took on all ofthese challenges with grace and
determination throughout her time with us.

She also was very willing to adapt and work in partnership with myself, my teaching
partner and any additional supports we had to teach to the needs ofthe students.
This was done both with her formal lessons but also in the way in which she showed
genuine care and attention to the needs of each student as they entered and
proceeded with their day.

I can say with confidence Victoria would be an exceptional addition to an early


childhood classroom and would be a welcome addition to the profession.
