2nd Grade Lesson Plan 2.

1. Goal: To practice so, mi, la; practice ta and ti ti; prep quarter rest; present do

2. Objectives: SWBAT
 ID beat vs. rhythm
 ID/read/perform ta and ti ti in songs and patterns
 ID solfege notes and place on the music staff
 ID a song by its rhythm

3. Materials: melody Cards

4. Procedure

1. Hello’s (slsm)

2. Melody Card Warm-Up


 Sing s l m patterns on staff

3. On a Log
 Sing song with steady beat
 Ask students if they know another sound that’s in this song (low
sound below mi)
 Show sounds on stairs and present do and hand sign
 Echo “if so is in a space…” and explain that smd are skips apart so
they copycat!

4. SMD Echos
 T. sings smd patterns and students echo with hand signs

5. Walk and Stop


 Review and play/teach to SE

6. Apple Tree
 Review song from last year; Teach to SE
 Ask if students can find the new “do” sound
 Echo phrases with hand signs

7. Goodbyes
