Convert RVM to NWD Using Navisworks

To convert an RVM file to NWD format for use in Navisworks, the RVM and ATT files must be placed in the same folder. A command can then be run from the PDMS command line using Navisworks to generate the NWD file. The NWD file can also be converted to a lower Navisworks version using additional arguments in the command. Color mapping between the RVM and NWD files is handled by the colors.txt file.

Generate NWD from RVM with PML

It is necessary to know for PDMS Admin how to convert RVM+ATT to NWD format.

Both files [Link] and [Link] should be placed in the same folder,
Navisworks will combine them while generating.

For this purpose we have to install Autodesk Navisworks(not Freedom) and command from
PDMS ComanLine:
SYSCOM | “C:\Program Files\Autodesk\Navisworks Manage 2015\[Link]” -nwd
“C:\PDMS\..\…\[Link]” “C:\PDMS\..\…\[Link]”|

To convert NWD to lover version use this code:

SYSCOM | “C:\Program Files\Autodesk\Navisworks Manage 2015\[Link]” /i


“C:\PDMS\..\…\[Link]” /of
“C:\PDMS\..\…\[Link]” /version 2014

It should be mentioned, that Navisworks use file [Link] to map colors from RVM,
