Learning Tools & Resources on GST Portal and Social Media
Various educational tools are available on front end processes of GST Portal through help section and
social media. The repository is constantly updated as and when a new functionality is introduced on the
GST Portal.
1. Help section on GST Portal ([Link] ): Help tab on GST
portal provides extensive material on navigating through various functionalities like registration, returns
& payment. Popular help topics can be accessed through the home page of GST Portal without going to
help section. Each functionality has been described through the following artefacts:
a) FAQs: Frequently asked questions have been compiled to assist the taxpayers in specific steps of
each functionality. This section also has a search functionality, which enables the taxpayers to
only search for specific query rather than going through all questions.
b) User Manuals: User manuals are detailed step by step guide for the taxpayer to navigate through
each functionality. These documents are PDF files which can be easily downloaded and printed.
c) Videos: Short videos have been uploaded in this section which are recorded to guide the
taxpayers, by watching and following the steps for navigating through GST Portal. In the help
section the icon in red , indicates a short video on the topic. However, CBT is indicated by a
green icon. List of available quick videos is given in Annexure 1.
2. Social Media: Latest developments on GST portal are also available on the social media channels as
given below:
a) YouTube Channel ([Link]/c/goodsandservicestaxnetwork )
i) Webinars: The recordings of webinars in regional languages are uploaded on youTube
channel. Playlists are created for easy access, list of topics of webinars in given in Annexure
2.
ii) Videos: Short videos are uploaded to guide taxpayers to follow steps for navigating through
the GST Portal. In the playlist the videos have been arranged in the order of functionalities
they give an overview like registration, returns, payment. The videos are also circulated
through WhatsApp groups.
iii) GST ki Masterclass: Queries and concerns of the taxpayers were addressed and telecast on
Doordarshan, as Television has a wider reach among taxpayers. The recording of these
episodes is made available so that users of social media can also benefit from it.
iv) Interviews: The leadership team of GSTN addresses the media from time to time about latest
developments on GST which is also made available through YouTube channel to create
awareness.

v) Workshops for Taxpayers: GSTN also participates in workshops being organized by
various trade bodies like FICCI, ASSOCHAM etc. The recording of some of these
workshops is also available so that the Q&A sessions can benefit other taxpayers as
well.
vi) Short Films: Two short films have been made on GSTR1 offline tool and Returns filing
by NFDC. These were shared with taxpayers through WhatsApp and social media
channels.
b) Facebook: ([Link]/gstsystemsindia)
Social networking site like facebook is actively being used to announce the latest developments
on GST Portal. The dissemination of important dates and introduction of new features on GST
portal is also done regularly.
c) Twitter: (@AskGSTech)
Twitter handle is used to announce the latest developments on GST Portal. The effort is also made
to guide tax payers by sharing brief step by step creatives about the new functionalities on GST
Portal. Dissemination of notifications is faster through the twitter handle.
