I’ll try to give you a summary of the problem we are facing here with the Mako 56, and
what we have done so far to try to solve it.
We noticed that the machine was warming up, but even it was warming the equipment
was still working, after we noticed it was warming because of the smell in the air, we
decided to remove the cover and investigate what was going on.
We found out that the device that was warming up inside the machine; was the power
supply, specifically a coil inside of the power supply, this coil is in a serial connection
with the terminals; V2 comm and V3 comm of the power supply, what we did after that
was to measure the current flow on these terminals, it was around 3.87 amps so we
discarded the possibility it was a problem directly on the machine and dismounted the
power supply to inspect it, we replaced the coil, and made some test to it, it seemed to be
working right accordingly with the datasheet we got from the manufacturer, we put it
back on the machine but it was still warming up, so we looked for some more
information and we decided to change the power supply.
I received and set the new one, it’s voltages; -15v , 15v , 24v, 5v, after I set the power
supply we put it back on the machine, after that, it was not warming as it was before, it
warms up but one can consider it normal.
After that we got two problems; first one, is that the panel is showing a message; System
error 1. and even we try restarting, it keeps showing the same error, second one is that the
power supply just as the one we replaced is shutting down after around 30 seconds, we
got some information from a technician and we inspected the motors on the machine and
the encoders, we found out that the motor shutting down the power supply was the black
one on the back side of the machine, we just unplugged it and noticed that without it, the
power supply didn’t shut down, we also dismounted the one in charge of moving the
front side, it was working right, we didn’t do anything with the one which cut the
material.
Actually the problems we are facing are these two problems; The System error 1 and the
problem that the machine is shutting down automatically after around 30 seconds.
